"Solo de Mí"
Hello Loves!
Welcome, today I'll be writing about BAD BUNNY!
Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio also known as Bad Bunny, is a Puerto Rican Latin trap and reggaeton singer. Gaining popularity through SoundCloud, his unique style and personality. He is daring and pushing boundaries for Puerto Rican artists, using his platform to spread awareness and call out Puerto Rico's governor (Ricardo Rosello) through a letter (in response to a teacher) with his petition for another function and discussing the awful educational system. Not only is Benito climbing the charts as an artist but he's become somewhat of an icon in regards to today's youth.
Now that you have an idea of who Bad Bunny is...
Let's get down to what's been going on as of now with this Bunny. "Solo de Mí" music video has recently been released ( https://t.co/CFhiR0WHh0 ). The music video begins with Venezuelan actress Laura Chimaras on stage lip-synching to the song, throughout the video she receives hits from an unknown source but due to the song going "no me vuelvas a decir bebe" - "Don't call me baby again" we can assume that its from their (ex) partner. The lyrics express the ending of a relationship, belonging to yourself and moving on from what is shown as an abusive relationship. This video not only spreads awareness to domestic violence but the rest of the song shows, you know it...
Bad Bunny, Venezuelan Actress Laura Chimaras along with other artists demonstrating their confidence after ending the relationship. Not allowing them (their ex partners) to come back to their life nor other people that would have a negative impact in their lives. Personally, I love the song. Bad Bunny executes perfectly the concept of belonging to oneself and owning the heck out of it, all while spreading awareness of domestic violence to today's youth.
It's so important to speak up on these topics and spread awareness. Especially when one in four women experience domestic violence at some point in their lives, be it physical or emotional and most of them ending in death. What is truly disturbing is the fact that no one speaks about it, in the latin community domestic violence is swept under the rug. People look the other way, others don't want to accept that they have fallen victim to it. Domestic violence has become somewhat prevalent in today's society, as if it were a norm. I don't need to say that as a woman I speak up against domestic violence, but as any rational human being I am here to say that domestic violence is not something to be ignored.
Many thanks to Bad Bunny for using his platform and becoming an artist worth the hype.

Excellent post about an excellent song and artist. I loved how you also took time out to reflect on domestic violence and how important it is to spread awareness.
